Just chat with Kay Why, he told me summer in London can reach to only 16 degree celcius if it rains...

Looks like i am the sua gu one...haha...
but basically i think everyone will get an image of people basking in the hot sun at the beach when the word 'summer' is mentioned.

Tsk Tsk, this is really misleading...

ps: i pray that the weather will turn good again... please PLEASE no more downpours... i want to go on the Maokong Gondola!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Summer is cold

Believe that people, summer in Taipei is cold...
Well, for the past one week at least.

It started last Friday when we wanted to go out to a night market (jalan jalan cari makan)... It started to pour and the rain was quite heavy. It was so heavy that we were unable to continue with our food hunt... The wind was strong and it nearly blew my umbrella away.

I had read before in my Lonely Planet book that Taiwan will experience downpour in the evenings during Summer, but little did i know that the rain here is not the same as in Malaysia (what the heck i am talking about???haha)In malaysia, when it rains, it gets cool and humid, sometimes cold but not as cold as being in Cameron or Genting highlands. But here it is different...

For the past one week it had been raining and it was seriously freaking cold.
We were at the Taipei city hall street on Saturday and we got a shock when we saw that the temperature displayed was 20 degress celcius. It was even colder than my air-conditioned room.
i mean, imagine that u are in an air-conditioned room with the temperature only 20 degree celcius and maximum fan, PLUS a stand fan blowing at you at maximum speed... Are u shivering now?? that is EXACTLY how we felt

This is summer!!!! SUMMER!!!! why on earth is it so cold???
We actually went out on sunday with our jackets and scarf...haha.. people must have thought we look like a bunch of idiots
I love cold weather, i do. but this feels like winter instead of summer...
i need more warm clothes!!!!!!!!!

Geez, i am bloody tired

my everyday schedule is very busy

6.30am wake up and get ready to go to the hospital
7.30am morning meeting
8.30am ward rounds
9.00am teaching session or clinic or own work
11.30am lunch
2.00pm teaching session or discussion
4.00pm ward rounds
.....

sigh
i never thought i will be so hardworking during electives...hehe...

every night after i come back i will be onlining chatting or writing blog or planning the weekend trips...barely have anytime for myself...

sigh

i am so busy until i cant write my blog properly!!!!! AH!!!!

my weekends will be packed with activities and again, i have no time to write my blog

sigh

today is already the 8th day i am in taipei but i havent even finish writing about the first day...
AH!!!!

sigh

hope i can at least write another few by this weekend...

Group picture at Taipei CKS International Airport

I am already in Taiwan!!!!!!!!
What is my feeling? Amazed, excited, happy, exhilarated, you name it. I have it all.

I wanted to post a blog everyday (sorry sis...) but then the past few days were too busy for me that i barely have the time to sit down and type out a proper blog. I'm just gonna write a summary here about what i had done and what i ATE in the past 4 days but i am still working on a longer version of my daily activities =) (will post it up once i finish it)

Day 1 (Friday 23rd May)
-Took bus to Klang in the morning
-First time visit to LCCT airport at 7.30pm
-Wander around LCCT like an idiot
-Sat at Coffee Bean and drink a regular white chocolate latte (not so nice)while watching Friends
-Finally my friends came and we sat at McD for dinner
-Checked in at 11 something pm
-Went in the waiting area around 12.30am
-FINALLY board the plane after one hour when we were all looking like zombies already
-Experienced my WORST flight ever for 3.5 hours
-Transit at Manila and waited for another 5 hours (we were all walking mummies d)

At Manila Airport: We looked so happy because we are FINALLY gonna board the flight to Taiwan!!!

-FINALLY flew to Taipei
-Touched down at CKS airport around 1pm
-Took a van to Taipei Veterens Hospital and met with our contact (and realise that they drive at the left side of the road...opposite from malaysia...feels so weird)
-Spent the next 2 hours settling in hostel and went around to pay our fees and all (we were ALL gonna drop dead d)
-FINALLY get to eat a proper meal at the Shipai night market
-Mug on 3 travelling books and numerous brochures for our trip the next day
-FINALLY get to sleep

Ok i think that was JUST the summary of my first day...haha...

Conclusion of the first day:
-DO NOT TAKE CONNECTING BUDGET FLIGHTS!!!!AH!!!!!

I met my friend Emily today at City Square while i was there wandering around aimlessly ... My purpose of being there was to do some shopping and exchange my currency from malaysia ringgit to new taiwan dollar actually, but we both ended up in Seasons cafe eating Swensen's ice cream...

Belive it or not this is actually my first time eating Swensen's... I never knew it existed in Seasons cafe anyway...But MY GOD IT IS GLORIOUS!!!!!

I am not a die hard ice cream fan nor a chocoholic, but seriously , i have to admit, the ice cream menu looks pretty good and I was tempted to try so many flavors... In the end we shared one black bart or something that sounds like that (it looks exactly like the one on the left!!) which tasted simply heavenly!!! Yummy!!!!!!!! the cream was deliciously like marshmellows...

Now that i had made this wonderful discovery, i want to try so many other ice creams in Swensen's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just LOOK at the wonderful sundaes!!!

YUMMY!!!!! ME WANT ICE CREAM!!!!!!

I started packing already...

My dad bought me a brown color luggage bag few days ago (don't ask me what happened to my old luggage...sigh... apparently my mum thought that i left my luggage bag at home because I don't want it anymore, and she went and gave it away!!!! the fact is, i LOVED that luggage which was still very new and i just left it at home because i was travelling light back to sabah that time!!!!!) and today i start to pack everything together

I had not travel abroad before and seriously, i have no idea what to bring... you see, I'll be staying in taiwan for more than 30 days and I will need to bring formal attires, a dress in case of any formal function, summer clothes for outings, casual clothes for night outings, sleeping clothes, jacket and scarf in case of windy days...blah blah blah...and these are just clothes!!!!! I still have many other main headings!!!

Packing is such a headache, and it always make me homesick...

The time when i start packing is usually very close to the time i am gonna leave home so obviously i feel sad and homesick again... really don't wanna leave home as i just came back 1 week ago.. Time is never enough for me whenever i'm home...

Sigh...home sick home sick... How i wish i can bring my parents to a vacation overseas too...

I'm going Taiwan!!!

Great, I am back from the bank and was told my account is NOT ACTIVE!!!!!!! AAH!!!! Well it is not such a big deal anyway, just have to withdraw some money and it will reactivate itself in 24 hours time... I opened this account when I was working as a part time promoter 7 years ago and the problem is, I have no ATM card that time!!!!!! So now when i finally want to apply an ATM card I face this problem...sigh...

Anyway it shouln't be a problem because I will be able to apply for the card tomorrow once my account is reactivated again... The bank teller must have thought I am a crazy woman because I actually sat there for almost an hour waiting for my turn to withdraw a pathetic 10 ringgit from him... I can see his confusion, i mean, who would withdraw 10 bucks from a bank teller???!!!

Him: Miss, you would like to withdraw money?
Me : Yes
Him: Wait for a moment please (click click click scan scan scan type type type)
Me : ...
Him: ...
Me : ...
Him: Erm miss?
Me : Yes?
Him: You would like to withdraw er... 10 ringgit?
Me : Yes, just 10
Him: (bewildered) Erm ok...

Well, that is just so pathetic...
But what to do, I have to activate it first...
sigh

Anyway just recieved good news from my friend who had helped us to contact the Taiwan university where we are going... Our hostel is well equipped with bedsheet, blanket and stuff so I don't have to bring!!! yeay!!! and best thing is, there is internet connection in the room!!!!

Hope that I will have time to post some stories from Taiwan every week =) Yeay!!!!

Good Morning to me!!! Gosh i slept late yesterday and have to drag my lazy body out of my oh-so-comfy bed at an ungodly hour...*yawn*

Today will be a busy day for me. I am flying to Taiwan on Thursday and (for God's sake) I have NOT pack anything or make my list of stuff that I need to bring!!!!! OMG!!! Worse, I haven't even change my currency from Malaysian ringgit to Taiwan dollar and USD...

So what I need to do today is to go to the bank and settle some stuff, go to town and get my handbook on Taiwan, buy some clothes (it's summer over there and basically the clothes that I have are quite impractical for a hot summer day), buy some groceries, change my currency, check out the price of the bus ticket to KL, pack my luggage (which i had successively failed to do so for the past one wek) and recheck everything so that I will not leave out anything important (to think if i go over to Taiwan for an attachment in the hospital and I forgot about bringing my doctor's coat and stethoscope!!! gasp!!! that will be such a total disaster not to mention embarrasing)

I NEED to be organized today... Time is crucial, time is precious (have to just keep telling me that hehe)... So WHY AM I STILL SITTING HERE TYPING AWAY???

God I really need to run now before my lazy bug catch up on me (TIME IS PRECIOUS!!!)... Ok seriously, i need to go... Wish me luck (hope I won't bump into those annoying bank officers...)

Hi there, I am very very new to blogspot and this is my very first entry here... Basically I have nothing much to say now but i am sure i will be posting stories of my life very soon here...

This is where i scribble
